Wayne Dyer’s The Power of Intention:  It is my Intention to live a stress free tranquil life

GUT CHECK:  Do you stress out easy? Are you typically calm and collected? Maybe you just appear cool and collected, but you just hide it well, because inside you’re freaking the &*%$# out!

Keep in mind, Rich Man’s Gym is about strength of body, mind and spirit.  So we’re working on mind and spirit today by examining a portion of Dr. Wayne Dyer’s book, The Power of Intention from a first person perspective.

In this post we’re going to look at converting energy and we’re going to leave you with having your very own tranquility affirmation that you can recite every single day if you’d like, so let’s get down to it!

We were born in a natural state of peace and tranquility because we came from a place of peace and joy.

Never you mind the trauma of birth, consider life in the womb. Warm, peaceful, weightless. Metaphorically and realistically. As we age, we tend to believe that many a thing in life is significantly more important than it actually really is. That’s our ego doing a number on us and once we’re convinced that we’re separate not only from God but the energy that is God and Intention, it opens the door to stress and anxiety. We have the power to convert the negative energies of fear, stress, anxiety, anger, frustration and any other energy that encourages a disconnection from the Power of Intention.

The first step is to take responsibility for the emotion. Notice I didn’t say blame. There’s no blame or shame. If you feel a certain way, just assume it’s there for a reason and you somehow attracted it. It doesn’t mean you’re bad or did something wrong, it means that your mind went in the wrong direction and the ego fired off a challenge. Now you get to handle it. Now you get to choose how you respond to the negative feeling or emotion. It does not have to dominate you, your day, your week, or your life. You can and will be able to convert negative energy into positive, tranquil energy. Make the decision to be at peace, calm and passive.

Quiet the mind as so many of the great sages have done before.

One of my favorite parts of the Harry Potter series is from “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.” In it Harry encounters two dark creatures. The first is a Boggart. It is a magical creature that no one knows what it actually looks like, because it is a shape shifter.  When you see it, it takes on the exact appearance of one’s greatest fear. Boggarts like to hide in dark places, like under the bed, in a wardrobe or a closet.

How does one in the Wizarding world of Harry Potter defeat a Boggart? Well, by a simple charm that involves thinking of the thing you fear with something funny while casting the charm and saying, “Riddikulus” For example a giant spider, if that’s your worst fear, see it trying to manage with roller skates! What’s brilliant about this, is the real world application of this “magic.” It is showing us a simple way to deal with our fears. Can you apply this to your world and have a little magic in your daily life?

The other dark creature is a dementor. They look like death. They are cold and unforgiving. The dementor’s kiss can take your very soul. They rob you of all happiness and joy and they feed on positive emotion. And should you run into one or be attacked by one, the defensive spell or charm is called a Patronus. The incantation is “Expecto Patronum.” It is spoken while thinking of the one thing that brings you the most joy and happiness and the Patronus will jet from the wizard’s wand and take the shape of an animal that is likened to the caster. How beautiful is that? How wonderful can that be and how can that be brought to real life?  Can you somehow use this to conquer your own anxiety?

It all starts with conquering your fears.

From there you can handle the rest. What shape would your Patronus be? What will you think of?For now, I will leave you with another incantation of sorts… Come back here and read or recite the following anytime you need a nice tall glass of chill the &()<# out!

Your Tranquility Affirmation:  It Is My Intention To Live A Stress Free Tranquil Life

“Anxiety is a mark of spiritual insecurity.”

-Thomas Merton

“So long as we believe in our heart of hearts that our capacity is limited and we grow anxious and unhappy, we are lacking in faith. One who truly trusts in God has no right to be anxious about anything.

-Paramahansa Yogananda

Stress is a desire of the ego! It does not exist in nature.

I remember Rule #6: Don’t take yourself so damn seriously!

I use the 5 magic words: “I want to feel good!”

I’ll never get it all done and that’s OK. I am in incomplete being. I’ll always be incomplete because I can never get it all done. Therefore, I choose to feel good while I’m in this moment, attracting into my life the manifestations of my desires. I am complete in my incompleteness!

I live in a universe of and that has limitless potential. My Source adores me beyond anything I can possibly imagine. I adore myself in the same proportion and am matched up with the field of intention. I have opted for the path of no resistance.

My natural state is joy. I come from peace and joy. I must stay in harmony with that from which I came in order to fulfill my dreams and desires. I choose to stay in my natural state. Anytime I am anxious, stressed out, depressed, or fearful, I’ve abandoned my natural state.

My thoughts, not the world, cause any stress I may have. I change my thoughts of stress in any given moment and eliminate the anxiety. I recognize that I can not be connected to my Source and be stressed out at the same time. I monitor my stressful thoughts by checking on my emotional state right in the moment. Do I feel good right now? No? Yes? I want to feel good. I intend to feel good. I make a conscious choice to select thoughts that activate good feelings.

Any chance I get to observe babies, I do and I vow to emulate their joy. I follow Rule #6. I accept the guidance and assistance of the same Force that created me, I let go of my ego and I trust in this wisdom to move at its own peaceful pace.  I make no demands on it. I practice being in silence and in mediation. I am in a constant state of gratitude and awe for all that I am and all that I observe.

I slept and dreamt that life was joy

I awoke and saw that life was service

I acted and behold service was joy

-Rabindranath Tagore

I feel good not because the world is right, but my world is right because I feel good!
